Kinematic and morphological regularities of the structure of the axial spreading overlapping zones of the mid- oceanic ridges
Comparative analysis of the kinematic and morphological features of the axial spreading ovelapping zones which are typical for spreading ridges with fast and median splitting rates has been made. There have been distinguished three scale overlapping levels, small (about 3 km in width), large (3-20 km wide), and giant (more than 20 km wide). Length of rift axis segments between the overlaps is greatly varied ranging from 50-70 km in small to 100-200 km in large and giant overlaps . Typical depths of the central basins are tens of meters for small and hundreds of meters for large and giant overlaps. The overlapping structure appears to be various. Overlapped axes are mainly rectilinear in small displacements, whereas large displacements are characterized by axis deflection from each other before co
